Hayden still thinks about Ducati offer
Struggling world champion Nicky Hayden has admitted that he cannot help but think about the Ducati offer that he turned down last September
Hayden decided to stay with Repsol Honda rather than switching to Ducati, who have dominated the early stages of the 2007 championship with Casey Stoner.
Autosport.com asked Hayden how difficult it was to see the bike he had turned down win three out of the first four races this season?
"I'd be lying if it hadn't crossed my mind. But... I'm where I wanna be," said Hayden.
"I've always been a Honda guy. It's easy to say the grass is greener on the other side. You dance with the girl you bring to the dance.
"Give Ducati credit, and Casey isn't making mistakes either. It's easy to say that it's just the bike, but the guy's still got to ride it - just like people used to say that people just need a Honda on Michelins. It's a package; it's not that easy.
"Hindsight is wonderful. I'd have used a different line around Turn 1 if I knew what would happen today..."
Hayden only finished 12th in Shanghai after being forced off the road by Toni Elias at the first corner.
