Parente joins AF Corse for Hungary

Alvaro Parente will join the AF Corse team for the Hungaroring round of the Le Mans Series this season

The Portuguese racer will drive the team's Ferrari F430 GT in the Hungarian event, the penultimate round of the championship, on 21-22 August.

Parente, who has competed in the Superleague Formula and the Spanish GT championship this year, will race in the GT2 class in the 1000Km of Hungaroring, sharing the car with Alvaro Barba.

"It's a great honour for me to be chosen by the official Ferrari team to take part in the Hungarian Le Mans Series event," he said.

"This championship is very competitive, where it is possible to watch intense fights between the Maranello's official drivers and Porsche's, a fight that capture the fans imagination, and makes me very excited to be part of it.

"As always, I'll give my best so I can justify the confidence that the team put in me."

Parente said there was a possibility to continue with the team in the future, but admitted achieving a good result in Hungary was his main focus.
