Weekend review and results round-up

With the title battle settled, the frenetic 2009 Formula 1 season came to a fairly relaxed end at Abu Dhabi's new Yas Marina track, which wowed the teams with its stunning facilities

As Red Bull took another one-two in a race that had been expected to see a McLaren romp, the 2010 line-up continued to take shape. Williams confirmed its move to Cosworth and Nico Rosberg's departure - while Rubens Barrichello had plenty of praise for Frank Williams's team ahead of his expected move. Newcomer Campos also hit the headlines by announcing its deal with Bruno Senna.

The Britsh Grand Prix's future was another hot topic, although sadly the weekend also saw the death of Donington Park owner Tom Wheatcroft.

Davide Valsecchi was the star of the supporting GP2 races - taking one win and a charging second place behind Christian Vietoris. In Formula 2, Andy Soucek capped his title-winning season with two more wins on his home track at Barcelona.

Elsewhere, Talladega provided the usual drama for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and a win for Jamie McMurray, while BMW took both World Touring Car wins at Okayama, giving Augusto Farfus an outside shot at the title heading for Macau, although Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller remain title favourites.
