Ducati not lacking motivation
Ducati say that they are as determined as ever ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, despite the fact that Casey Stoner has already wrapped up the MotoGP title
Stoner heads to his home race as world champion after he sealed the title in Japan, but both he and Ducati team boss Livio Suppo have said that Ducati will treat the weekend like any other.
"Honestly speaking, we go to Phillip Island with the usual mentality, aiming to win," said Suppo. "The motivation to win is still there for Casey and for Loris (Capirossi), especially after his great win at Motegi.
"Also, we still want to secure the constructors' and teams' championships, so we hope for an exciting battle."
Stoner is looking forward to competing at his home race without the pressure of chasing the title, but he admits that it won't affect his approach to the race.
"It's going to be a special feeling going to my home race with the championship already won, but I will be going out to win, same as ever," said the 21-year-old.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing the Australian fans, though once I'm on the bike I'll do my job the same as everywhere."
