Hayden admits more work needed

The reigning world champion was buoyed by the post-race test at Barcelona, and he then took his best grid position of the season last week at Donington.

However, he is not under any illusions as he returns to the Dutch circuit where he won last year.

"We didn't change a lot, just a few settings, nothing major," said the American. "It worked at Barcelona and it worked at Donington, but that's not to say we're out of the woods yet.

"We've got to keep working. We've got a lot to do to try and get back to where I feel like I belong."

The Honda rider also admitted that he is already looking towards his home race at Laguna Seca, where he has won for the past two years.

"I can't wait for the next races," he said. "Assen is a track I like, and Laguna is coming up, so I need to start warming up and try to get a little momentum going."
