Coulthard quickest at Jerez test
McLaren driver David Coulthard went quickest in testing at Jerez on Friday
The Scot put in the fastest time of the day with a 1.24.817 after 62 laps.
Jaguar test driver Luciano Burti was a close second, with a time of 1.25.010.
He completed 51 laps ahead of regular driver Eddie Irvine - who was fourth after posting a time of 1.25.605.
McLaren test driver Olivier Panis finished the day third quickest, while Pedro Diniz ended up fifth [1.25.968] - despite going off the circuit twice.
Ricardo Zonta got his first taste of British American Racing's Honda-powered 2000 challenger. He was sixth with a time of 1.26.623.
F1 hopeful, Jenson Button, was classified seventh - although he did not set a time after a series of mechanical failures thwarted his first taste of the Williams-BMW.
His rival for the seat, Brazilian Bruno Junqueira, did not get a chance to test the car at all.
Testing continues on Saturday.
