Tomczyk leads Audi 1-2-3 on grid
Martin Tomczyk has taken pole position for Sunday's DTM race at the Nurburgring as Audi grabbed the top three places in qualifying
The German driver will fancy his chances of making up ground in the championship this weekend, as his teammate Mattias Ekstrom could only manage 10th on the grid.
Audi's remaining lead drivers are well placed to aid Tomczyk's championship bid, as Zandvoort pole sitter Timo Scheider will start alongside him on the front row, while Tom Kristensen will line up third.
However, the pair could have their work cut out in the race, as the Mercedes drivers appeared to be stronger during long runs in practice.
Bruno Spengler was the top Mercedes driver in fourth place, and Ekstrom's poor starting position means that the Canadian could also put himself back into contention for the championship this weekend.
Behind Spengler, the next two rows are filled by Mercedes drivers, with Bernd Schneider leading Jamie Green, Paul di Resta, and Mika Hakkinen.
