Tomczyk expects to get stronger

Martin Tomczyk believes that he will be even stronger in the second half of this year's DTM championship

The Audi driver led the standings after Brands Hatch, and despite not winning a race so far this season, he is just 5.5 points adrift of championship leader Bernd Schneider.

Tomczyk believes that his results will improve in the second half of the season though, as he prefers the tracks that are still to come this year.

"I'm really looking forward to the remaining races, because they are on tracks I am more used to than the ones we have had so far," Tomczyk told autosport.com.

"I love to race on the tracks that are coming up, and I will definitely be stronger."

Tomczyk also admitted that he had planned his season around being stronger in the second half of the year.

"I've calculated like that," he said. "I'm working hard for these races. We were ok until I got hit at the Norisring, but that's racing and you have to look forward.

"Everything is close together, it's ok if the leader is 5.5 ahead of me. But we are getting closer to the end of the season. I have to fight to close up again in the next two races."

Tomczyk is currently third in the standings, behind Scheider and his Audi teammate Mattias Ekstrom.
