Farfus takes home win in race two

Augusto Farfus claimed his first win for BMW with victory from sixth on the grid in the second World Touring Car Championship race at Curitiba

The Brazilian took the lead from polesitter Yvan Muller on the entry to Turn 1 on lap three and was unchallenged as he took his first ever win at his local track. Andy Priaulx and Jorg Muller completed a second BMW clean sweep of the podium of the day, which leaves all three drivers tied on 16 points at the top of the championship.

Muller was the best of the rest in fourth ahead of team-mate Gabriele Tarquini as the SEATs struggled to match the BMWs for pace.

Alex Zanardi finished sixth after starting from the front row of the grid, although he lost significant ground at the start when he was hit by the Chevrolet of Rob Huff, who was attempting to pass up the inside into Turn 1 after making a lightning start.

Independent winner Luca Rangoni made up for not making it past the first lap in race one by taking seventh overall this time ahead of the GR-Asia SEAT of Tom Coronel.
