Strakka Dome LMP2 has completed more than 4000km of testing
The unraced Strakka Dome LMP2 coupe has completed more than 4000km during its latest tests since undergoing major rear-end changes
The Nissan-engined Strakka Dome S103 undertook a multi-day run at the Aragon circuit in Spain this week and last, which followed on from tests with the revised car at the Hungaroring in October and Paul Ricard in December.
Strakka Racing team owner Nick Leventis said that the S103 had "run extremely well" over the course of a test in which he shared driving duties with World Endurance Championship team-mates Danny Watts and Jonny Kane.
The team was able to try a number of new parts and work through a comprehensive aerodynamic test plan for both high and low-downforce configurations.
It also ran a prototype of the new head-restraint set-up that will allow the car to be finally homologated for the LMP2 division.
The test, which began last week, had to be halted due to snow, but resumed on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
The S103, a joint venture between British race team Strakka and Japanese constructor Dome, had been due to make a belated WEC entry in the WEC season finale at Interlagos after the suspension issues that had precluded its participation up until then had been overcome.
Concerns that the cockpit headrest mounting would not be passed by WEC officials at scrutineering in Brazil resulted in a late decision to withdraw from the event.
