Surtees: No Driver Choice Yet
Team A1 Great Britain boss John Surtees has not decided which of his two drivers will race for the team when the series kicks off at Brands Hatch
Surtees announced earlier this week that former British F3 champion Robbie Kerr and former McLaren Autosport award winner Alex Lloyd have been signed to drive for the team in the inaugural World Cup of Motorsport.
However, the 21-car grid will only have one car from each nation, meaning one of the British duo will be watching from the pitwall on September 25.
Surtees told Autosport-Atlas: "Who will be racing the car? The simple answer is I don't know.
"We haven't finalised that detail yet it will be a team effort and there won't be one lead driver, and we will make a decision on who is racing the car on a race-by-race basis. No driver has been made any promise on how much or little they will get to race the car."
Kerr and Lloyd piped former Grand Prix driver Ralph Firman and BAR tester James Rossiter for the drive following a shootout at Brands Hatch in May.
Surtees added: "The decision was unanimous. We opted for a fresh line-up that would be fantastic for the team. Both Ralph and James were extremely competent drivers and it is worth noting that both have other racing commitments."
The series will hold its first two tests at Silverstone on August 3-4 and at Paul Ricard on August 24-26, when Kerr and Lloyd get to test the teams' A1 GP car for the first time.
