Gorne quits Reynard Motorsport
Rick Gorne has quit Reynard Motorsport - ending an 18-year-old association with the team
Gorne has resigned from the company in order to concentrate on his role at British American Racing.
Chairman and chief executive, Reynard Motorsport, Adrian Reynard said: "Rick and I are great friends and have worked together for many years building up Reynard to be the successful company that it is today.
"While I am sad that Rick has decided to move on from Reynard after such a long time with the company, I'm pleased that we will continue to be working together at BAR and I know he will put all his energies into his role there.
"Rick has been a familiar face in the Champ Car paddock and much of our successful entry into this Series back in 1994 was due to his hard work, talent, and commitment."
"Over the last five years, we've grown our management team to ensure that we have the strength and depth of people to look after our business and fulfill the needs of our customers. He has given us a great inspiration and philosophy that we must build upon."
Rick Gorne described his departure as "a difficult decision for me to make".
He added: "I've worked at Reynard for so long and it has been such a major part of my career. However I found it increasingly difficult to give the company the attention that it deserved, so I felt it best to move aside and let the capable management team that is now in place, take the company forwards."
Reynard Motorsport enters the millennium with a strong product portfolio - the successful Champ Car programme, Formula Nippon car and new for 2000, 2KQ Sports Racing Car.
The company now employs over 300 people dedicated to producing winning cars.
