Lopez Eyes Consistency
Jose Maria Lopez was cheerful about his day's work after claiming his second third position in a row in qualifying in Barcelona today
Lopez, currently third in the championship and already eying the title, said: "I'm happy I think it's good to be consistent. At this stage I need some good points, and I should be able do this. It's also good for my championship, because Heikki [Kovalainen] and [Adam] Carroll are down the grid a little bit."
After a troubled first round in Imola most drivers were able to run problem free sessions today, including Lopez who stated: "It was the easiest qualifying of my life because the car was so good! But unfortunately I spun on my first set of tyres and so I didn't push as much as I wanted on the second set, but I think it was a good time."
Looking ahead to tomorrow Lopez was confident about his chances in the race.
"Third is okay if you are eighth or so you can fight for points, if you are fifth then maybe you can try to get on the podium, but if you are third then you can fight for a win."
