Todt Promises Ferrari Dominance Will Continue

Winning two world titles in 2000 has made Ferrari even more determined and more motivated to repeat that success this season, sporting director Jean Todt explained at the launch of the team's 2001 car in Italy on Monday.

Todt, speaking moments after the new F2001 car was unveiled at the team's Fiorano test track, said that the Maranello-based world champions would remain at the head of the grid after improving their car to win both titles again this season.

"After many years we have succeeded in bringing the number one back home thanks to Michael," Todt said. "This year we are more motivated than ever, because after years of suffering we have succeeded in winning both titles.

"Everything will be different now - there will be less tension and more desire and determination to continue with the number one on the car. We are sure we can continue our success because we have worked a lot on the stability of the team and have introduced new technologies."

Todt revealed that the new F2001 car will feature a brand new engine - the 050 - and added that major changes have been made to the chassis to bring it in line with new rulings.

"The F2001 has a new engine - the 050 - which is an evolution of the 049 and we have tried to improve the car in all areas - chassis and engine - in line with the new FIA regulations," he added.

"We are a great family of 600 people who work calmly, with determination and with thoughts on both the present and the future."
