Schumacher Confident of Ferrari Comeback

Reigning Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher played down suggestions that his Ferrari team are feeling the pressure after Williams-BMW dominated the French Grand Prix on Sunday.

Schumacher's brother Ralf won from teammate Juan Pablo Montoya to record their team's second consecutive one-two result and close Ferrari's Constructors' Championship lead over them to just three points.

But five-times World Champion Schumacher, who extended his lead over McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen in the drivers' championship by one point, insisted: "It is not like we are completely lost. Obviously you need to be concerned about it - we see what they do, we know what we do and we obviously work very hard at home to get our act together to improve the situation.

"We basically stay concentrated and we will work together in order to improve the situation. I think everybody knows what we have to do. We have a very good car indeed, but obviously so have Williams."

Despite Williams' recent dominance, Ralf Schumacher is still 11 points adrift of his brother heading to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and Montoya is a further six points behind him.

The new points rules this season make it increasingly difficult to make up lost ground and the Ferrari star said: "All-in-all we know we are a bit behind the Williams but we feel confident that we can change it around. I gained another point in the Championship lead to Kimi today and in Formula One we have often seen phases where we were behind and suddenly minor things make the thing turn."
