Barrichello confident come race time
Rubens Barrichello missed a golden opportunity to make up ground in his battle for supremacy with Michael Schumacher, but said the story was not over yet
The Ferrari number two qualified fourth as he was caught out by the series of red flags that halted qualifying three times and starts his home Grand Prix behind both McLarens and his team leader.
But he felt confident it could be a different story in Sunday's 71-lap race.
"We can be very competitive in the race and this is a circuit where you can overtake," he warned.
Early in the session he had got the better of Schumacher and splitting the two McLarens to sit on the outside of the grid but after the second run he was down in fourth.
"My fastest lap was spoiled by a red flag," he said. "Its a shame because I was on for a really good time.
"But I am satisfied given how little running I was able to do. If it rains tomorrow the track conditions will be very difficult because the surface is so slippery."
The Brazilian is second in the world championship.
