AUTOSPORT show starts Thursday

This year's show will be particularly special with the 50th anniversary of AUTOSPORT magazine, and to commemorate this there will be a special interactive display on the main stand in Hall 7.

The first two days of the show [January 13, 14] are reserved for trade, but Saturday and Sunday [January 15 and 16] will be public days.

Formula 1 driver Pedro de la Rosa will open the show to the public on Saturday. He will be joined by a host of stars from all categories of motorsport.

Grand Prix commentator Simon Taylor and Radio AUTOSPORT presenter John Hindhaugh will also be on hand to interview personalities from the world of motorsport.

Rising star Darren Manning will also be on hand to discuss his future plans on the stage.

The Japanese F3 champion, who impressed the motorsport world with spectacular wins at this year's Macau and Korea International F3 races, has just signed up to test for F1 outfit BAR in 2000.

Arrows F1 driver Pedro de la Rosa will also be amongst those interviewed on Saturday. While, Sauber driver Pedro Diniz joins John Hindhaugh on the AUTOSPORT stage on Sunday.

Once again, visitors will be able to walk down a mock pitlane in Hall 9.

This year, McLaren, Jordan, Williams, British American Racing and Sauber have all provided cars for the display.

There will also be live action from the Thunderdrome arena where former Le Mans winner Allan McNish will be taking on two-time BTCC champion John Cleland.

The two Scots will take on rival teams in the AUTOSPORT circuit challenge, that features some of British motorsport's best cars.
