BAR sees improvement in second year
Formula 1 team British American Racing claims development work is going well in preparation for the outfit's second season of grand prix racing
Following a test with new engine supplier Honda at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona over the weekend, team boss Craig Pollock said the outfit was not experiencing the same problems it did last year.
'We have done a great deal of useful work in our tests to date,' explained the Scot, 'the car's improved reliability allowing us to work on performance enhancement prior to the season in a way we weren't able to in 1999.'
Jacques Villeneuve tested this year's car at the Spanish track. He was second quickest on the third and final day of testing on Monday.
His team-mate, Ricardo Zonta, will get his first taste of the 2000 challenger at Jerez this weekend.
BAR, which failed to score a single point in 1999 while powered by Supertec engines, is hoping to open up its points tally with Honda this season.
