Anderson to split with Jaguar?

Rumours suggest the Irishman is on the verge of being replaced as Jaguar's technical director and an announcement about the future of the design team is to be made shortly.

The Milton Keynes-based outfit has dismissed the rumours, but Jaguar Racing chairman Neil Ressler has highlighted the design cadre as one of the areas to improve upon for 2001.

"I can't say anything at the moment," said Ressler. "We are talking to more people and we will fill the places that need filling in at the team.

"I would like to carry on improving the aerodynamics side. That is the big area in Formula 1. We hired Mark Handford, who is a guy I've been working on for quite a while and we will need to carry on with understanding the mechanical grip. That is part of the problem, because it isn't all aerodynamics."

Ressler has made several key appointments in recent months in an effort to improve the team's performance next year. Bobby Rahal starts as chief executive officer on December 1 and Ferrari's chief mechanic Nigel Stepney is set to follow to improve Jaguar's pit-work.

"I think we have the key elements, but we will carry on with recruiting," said Ressler.
