Hakkinen criticises Ferrari's Schuey bias

Two days after his maiden victory in Hockenheim set Barrichello's championship campaign alight, Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo reportedly said: "We will do everything in our power so that Michael Schumacher wins the title."

But he did promise to give both drivers cars capable of winning as the Brazilian moved into title contention, just 10 points behind Schumacher.

Sitting just a few feet from Barrichello in a press conference on the (Thursday) afternoon before first practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the world champion said: "When you hear something like that from your management it affects the driver's morale.

"I don't know if that is exactly what he said, or whether it has been turned around, but it affects your morale in your own head and is very distracting.

"It definitely does not give you much motivation to go racing and give your best to the team. You know you are there to lose and who wants to do that?"
