Tomczyk hails strongest season
Martin Tomczyk believes that he will come back stronger in 2008 after having his best DTM season to date this year
The German finished third in the championship behind his teammate Mattias Ekstrom and Bruno Spengler, and he feels that over the winter he will improve considerably ahead of next season.
Tomczyk had gone into Sunday's season finale at Hockenheim just four points behind Ekstrom, but his title chances were effectively gone after he picked up a puncture in a collision with Timo Scheider on the opening lap.
"This was my best season so far, and I reached my goal of finishing in the top three in the championship," Tomczyk told autosport.com.
"I'm happy for Mattias and Audi. The right brand got the title, and next year will be my year."
After several years of inconsistency in the DTM, Tomczyk believes that he is now capable of delivering strong performances on a regular basis, and he predicts that there is more to come from him.
"I will keep working the way I have this year because that is the way to success," he added. "I will keep pushing like I have, and everyone in the team will support me next year."
