Tarquini focused on teams' title
Gabriele Tarquini has said that he is more focused on helping SEAT win the WTCC manufacturers' title than winning the drivers' championship for himself
The Italian believes that a BMW is most likely to take the drivers' crown, because he feels the German cars have a big advantage over the front-wheel drive cars in the field.
The SEAT driver had taken the lead in the second WTCC race of the weekend at the Czech circuit, but he could do nothing about the challenge from the BMWs, as the German cars took a 1-2-3 finish to back up a 1-2-3-4 in race one.
"The difference in speed was so big, I could not fight with them," he added. "BMW is also favourite for the title because the difference between front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive is huge.
"My target remains the manufacturers' championship, which is more important than the drivers'. This remains the goal for all SEAT drivers."
Tarquini added that he felt he was powerless to stop the BMW of Jorg Muller, Augusto Farfus, and Felix Porteiro when they attacked him in race two.
"I was leading the second race and normally in this position you fight like mad, but Muller, Farfus, and Porteiro overtook me and I could do nothing about it," he said.
"To be honest I didn't really enjoy this race weekend. The difference between the front and rear-wheel drive cars was so big."
