Muller leads BMW 1-2-3 at Brno

Jorg Muller lead a BMW clean sweep of the podium in the second race of the fifth round of the World Touring Car Championship at Brno

Muller, who moves up to second in the championship, passed Schnitzer Motorsport teammate Augusto Farfus for the lead on lap four on the entry to the final right-left sequence to take a lead he would never relinquish.

Farfus finished a close second, with race one winner Felix Porteiro picking up third in his ROAL-run BMW 320si.

Chevrolet's Alain Menu had led in the early stages, only to retire after contact with the second ROAL car of Alex Zanardi on the second lap.

The incident also gave Zanardi a puncture, although his race was effectively ruined before the start when he was hit with a ten-second stop/go penalty for contravening parc ferme regulations.

This gave the lead to SEAT's Gabriele Tarquini, but he was unable to hold off the BMW hoardes, with both Farfus and Muller passing him on the inside of Turn 3 on lap three.

The Italian could manage only fourth, best of the BMWs, ahead of James Thompson's N.Technology Alfa Romeo 156 and Nicola Larini's Chevrolet.

Andy Priaulx fought from 22nd on the grid to salvage two points after being removed from the first race in a first corner accident.

The defending double WTCC champion carved through the field to run ninth behind the SEATs of Tiago Monteiro and Jordi Gene, passing them at the start of lap eight when the pair tangled in Turn 1.

Gene recovered to take the final point.
