Muller relaxed ahead of showdown
Yvan Muller says that he is feeling relaxed ahead of next weekend's World Touring Car Championship finale at Macau
The SEAT driver is one of six men still in with a chance of winning the crown at the street circuit, and he is tied at the top of the standings with reigning champion Andy Priaulx.
"I feel no pressure heading to Macau leading the championship," said the Frenchman. "For me it's the same feeling before any other race and I have prepared exactly the same."
The diesel engine in Muller's Leon is expected to be an advantage for the former BTCC champion, but he is cautious about his title chances.
"The TDI will be better on the long straights," he added, "but Macau is also very tight and twisty, so we will have to see how competitive we are.
"We did well at Macau last year, but it is a very particular circuit and anything can happen. There will be a lot of lighter cars on the track, and with the maximum weight handicap it will be a challenge."
Fellow SEAT driver Gabriele Tarquini is more optimistic about his teammate's chances, and the Italian has vowed to do all he can to help Muller.
"I am very positive that we can win the title, especially with Yvan," said Tarquini. "We showed in Monza that we can work very well as a team.
"It will not be easy because BMW are always very strong at Macau, but I am very optimistic and have a very positive feeling about the final round of the championship."
