Rick Kelly takes Hidden Valley pole
Toll HSV Dealer Team driver Rick Kelly has taken his first pole position of 2007 in qualifying for this weekend's SkyCity Triple Crown at Hidden Valley
He edged out older brother Todd by less than six hundredths of a second for an all-Kelly front row, with Todd's Holden Racing Team teammate Mark Skaife making it a Holden 1-2-3 at the front of the grid.
Behind the three Holdens came five Fords, Jim Beam Racing's Will Davison leading the way from Jamie Whincup, Ford Performance Racing teammates Steven Richards and Mark Winterbottom, and Craig Lowndes.
Britek's Jason Bright put in a strong effort to just miss the top ten runoff in a track he always does at, qualifying twelfth, one place behind James Courtney who had an interesting day on Friday during practice when a spin around the back of the circuit ended with his car on its roof, giving the team's crew a long night's work as they replaced virtually every panel on the car.
Larry Perkins' gamble on two young drivers still sees some struggles for the pair of rookies, Jack Perkins in 27th with Shane Price 29th out of a field of 30 starters.
