Biffle, Wallace Secure Chase Spot
Greg Biffle and Rusty Wallace became the next two drivers to secure a place in the Chase for the Cup after the Sharpie 500 today
Biffle and Wallace finished third and fifth at last night's Bristol Motor Speedway race, which will be enough to secure a place in the top ten when the points are reset in two races' time.
Wallace's position depends on him starting at least one of the two remaining races before the Chase.
The two join points leader Tony Stewart and second-placed Jimmie Johnson as drivers who have clinched a spot in the ten-driver shootout for the crown, which begins on September 18th at New Hampshire with the Sylvania 300.
Six spots remain up for grabs and the battle for the latter places heated up after the Bristol race. Only 54 points separate Ryan Newman in ninth back to Elliott Sadler in 13th place.
Jeff Gordon moved into tenth spot after the Bristol race, just 11 points ahead of race winner Matt Kenseth who climber four spots to 11th.
