Mann to stay with P1 for 2008

Pippa Mann will race for P1 Motorsport in World Series by Renault for a second season this year

The 23-year-old scored one point during her rookie season in 2007, but she believes that after a learning year in the category she can aim higher this year.

"2007 was very much a learning curve for me, and the team supported me amazingly throughout my first season in World Series by Renault," she said. "I'm thrilled to be confirmed for my second year with P1.

"I'm under no illusions that it's going to be easy, but as long as I can continue in the same way that I finished 2007, then I should be able to achieve the goals of regularly getting into the new superpole and scoring points."

Mann will partner Giedo van der Garde at P1, and team boss Roly Vincini believes that she can raise her game in her second season.

"We set goals at the beginning of last season and Pippa was achieving those by the end of the year, so we can expect the same of her in 2008," he said.

"Expectations will of course be higher and it won't be easy by any means, but Pippa has a lot of determination and I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to score points consistently."
