Comtec to confirm line-up next month
Former World Series by Renault champions Comtec Racing are targeting a return to form this season and are set to confirm their driver line-up early next month
Comtec won the title with Swede Alx Danielsson in 2006 but struggled to repeat this last year and replaced lead driver Jaap van Lagen after just four races.
Team boss Jonathan Lewis is confident however that he can secure the drivers to take the team back to the front of the field in 2008. "We know who we want, we're just holding out to get the right people," he said.
"Sometimes you can go in for drivers too early and miss out on better ones later on. It's better for us to wait and get it right so we'll sign our drivers in the next three weeks."
Comtec's driver development manager, ex-F1 racer Martin Donnelly, believes the team will attract potential champions thanks to their performance in previous years.
"We proved ourselves as a top team with Alx in 2006 and the World Series will always draw in the best up and coming drivers because it produces as many F1 drivers as GP2 but the budgets are nearer to that of a top F3 team."
The nine-round World Series 2008 season kicks off at Monza on April 26-27.
