Hayden hampered by two crashes

Nicky Hayden had a difficult second day of testing at Qatar as the American fell twice on his way to setting the 11th fastest time of the day

The world champion was also hindered by an engine problem which forced him to switch bikes, and left him frustrated by the end of the day.

Hayden had been fifth fastest during testing on Tuesday, but while his two falls on Wednesday were only minor, he was disappointed to lose the momentum from the first day.

"Yesterday went well but today wasn't so smooth," he said. "In the morning I had a small crash and an engine problem which meant we had to take the forks I like from one bike and put them on the other bike.

"At the end of the day I tried to go out and finish off strongly and I had another crash which is a little frustrating."

But while Hayden struggled, his teammate Dani Pedrosa was third quickest, and the American is hoping to rediscover his form for the final day of the test.

"We'll definitely try and sit down with the team tonight and go through all the data to get things sorted for tomorrow," he said. "We'll be looking to finish off with a strong day."
