Jarvis: Michelin troubles harming series
Yamaha team boss Lin Jarvis believes that the MotoGP series is currently 'suffering' because of Michelin's inability to match Bridgestone
The French tyre manufacturer has only won four of this season's 12 races, with three of those victories courtesy of Yamaha's Valentino Rossi.
Jarvis has urged Michelin to get back on the pace as soon as possible, as he believes the company's current problems are harming the championship as well as his team's chances.
"We hope Michelin can respond in the short term for this year, and the long term for next season so we see ourselves on comparable rubber," Jarvis said.
"I think the championship as a whole is suffering as such.
"Manufacturers are spending a lot of money on machinery and riders. We are investing and yet we are still struggling at some circuits."
Rossi has not been on the podium since winning at Assen in late June. His last three races have brought only a crash, a fourth place, and a seventh position, to Jarvis' displeasure.
"Before the end of the season we need a win... we need some wins in fact," he said.
