Wilson critical of Doornbos' blocking
Justin Wilson has agreed with other Champ Car drivers regarding the defensive driving tactics of Robert Doornbos so far this season
Doornbos was slammed by Sebastien Bourdais after he beat the Frenchman last weekend at Mont-Tremblant, and in the past week some other drivers have added that they are not happy with the rookie's tactics.
Blocking is not allowed in North American racing, and Bourdais has claimed that Doornbos has been using tactics that he picked up during his years racing in Europe.
"Robert does have a reputation of blocking and he has done it at every race so far unfortunately," said Wilson.
"That's the only negative about Robert, he's done a fantastic job and if he could just obey that last rule of North American racing, then you couldn't fault the job he is doing."
Wilson added that he was disappointed to see Sebastien Bourdais get away with jumping the start as well last weekend.
"From where I was sitting it was a very bad start from Sebastien," he said. "He went at least a second before the lights changed, and it didn't get called up. That's disappointing."
Wilson is currently fourth in the drivers' standings, but he feels that his RSPORTS team are capable of catching the leaders.
"The championship is still possible," he said. "The season didn't get off the best start but we've kept in the fight, and now we need to get some wins."
