Power hoping to close gap to leaders
Will Power believes that he can get back into the thick of the Champ Car title battle this weekend at Toronto
The Australian driver led the standings early in the season, but a couple of bad results have meant that he has lost a little bit of ground, while Sebastien Bourdais and Robert Doornbos currently lead the championship.
However, Power believes that Team Australia are capable of turning their deficit around now, as they are strong on street circuits.
"We are continuing our championship charge and I'm looking forward to going back to a street circuit," said the 26-year-old, who won the season-opener around the streets of Las Vegas.
"Now we are aiming to finish ahead of Sebastien and Robert and hopefully collect another win and continue getting points.
"Our cars have been very strong on these types of circuits and I've been very competitive on them as well."
Power is only 14 points adrift of the pair sharing the lead of the standings at the moment, and he is hoping that Toronto will be a turning point for the team as it was last year.
"Unfortunately we've run into some bad luck the past couple of races but it's starting to pick back up and Toronto was where our luck started to turn around last year," he added.
