Reid completes double victory

Team New Zealand's Jonny Reid took his second win of the weekend with an excellent drive to victory in the feature event at Brno

Reid's win owed as much to stunning pit work from the New Zealand squad as it did to a faultless drive by the Kiwi. From seventh on the grid, Reid made a solid start, but vaulted up the order during the first round of pitstops.

Now up to second, a great charge by Reid took him to the tail of polesitter and early leader Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands). Again the combination of team and driver worked to perfection and in the second round of stops, Reid moved ahead of the orange car and into a lead that he built on to the flag.

Bleekemolen held on to second, a comfortable way ahead of Neel Jani, who claimed third for the Swiss, a fraction ahead of Team China's Franky Cheng, who drove an inspired race to fourth, and claimed the bonus point for fastest lap.

Nicolas Lapierre (France) drove a hard race to fifth, while Adam Carroll performed a minor miracle in taking sixth for Ireland from 18th on the grid.

There was a big gap back to the rest of the point scorers, who were led by Sergio Jimenez, claiming his first points for Brazil.

A slow second pitstop dropped Christian Vietoris (Germany) to eighth, while India's Narain Karthikeyan was the one of the fastest men on track and took ninth. Despite battling with a virus, Enrico Toccacelo grabbed the final point for Italy.

Pre-race championship leaders South Africa only managed 16th after Adrian Zaugg stalled at a pitstop.

Robbie Kerr was in the fight for a podium place for Team GB until a puncture ruined his chances and he trailed home 17th.
