New Zealand dominate Brno sprint

Jonny Reid claimed New Zealand's first win of A1GP season three with a dominant performance at Brno

Reid got the jump on polesitter Adrian Zaugg at the rolling start, driving around the outside of the South Africa car into the first corner. Robbie Kerr (GB) and Adam Carroll (Ireland), also passed Zaugg, and they went wheel to wheel through the next sequence of corners, with Kerr eventually coming out on top.

Kerr could do nothing to claw Reid in however, as the black NZ car pulled away at over half a second a lap. In spite of some bodywork damage, Carroll held on to third for a podium on his A1GP debut, while Zaugg trailed in fourth.

Jeroen Bleekemolen (Holland) and Nicolas Lapierre (France) had a race-long dice for fifth after Lapierre made a fantastic start from 10th on the grid. The French car regularly looked to the outside of the Dutch car into Turn 1, but couldn't quite make a move stick.

The same applied to the battle for seventh between Team Germany's Christian Vietoris and Swiss Neel Jani, who appeared to be quicker, but could not find a way through.

Joao Urbano had a quiet race on his way to his first points for Portugal in ninth, while Franky Cheng pulled a great move on the Team Brazil car of Sergio Jimenez to bag the final point for China.
