Jimenez targets Brazilian A1GP seat
Former GP2 racer Sergio Jimenez is hoping to land a seat with Team Brazil for the upcoming A1GP season
The 23-year-old will join the team for a two-day rookie test at Snetterton that starts on August 14, where Clemente Faria will also drive the Brazilian car.
Jimenez started this season driving for Racing Engineering in GP2, but he left the team and the series after the third round of the season at Monte Carlo due to financial reasons.
"I'm really happy to have been given this opportunity and I hope that it will end in me being involved with the team during the race season," he said.
The Brazilian, who scored points in both GP2 races in Spain earlier this season, believes that his experience from the start of the year will serve him well when he tests the A1GP car.
"I have some experience with the GP2 car, and the A1GP car is nearly the same in terms of power, so I don't think it will be a problem for me," he added.
"I just need to learn how the series and team work, get comfortable in the car and do a good job."
