Audi Duo Win in Atlanta

JJ Lehto and Marco Werner followed on from their Sebring success by claiming victory for Champion Racing in the Audi R8 at the Grand Prix of Atlanta

The pair won by 44.7 seconds from the Dyson Racing Lola of Andy Wallace and Chris Dyson. The win was Lehto's 22nd career class victory, tying the ALMS record.

The Dyson pair of James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger seemed to have the race in the bag at the halfway point, but Leitzinger spun twice in the final 25 minutes, ending their day with a broken halfshaft on the side of the track.

"It was really tough," Lehto said after the race. "There were so many things going on in the race. I thought it was going to be really tough catching the Dyson, but the yellows played mostly in our favor. Without the yellows, we never could have made up that 45-second or so gap."
