Senna hits out at Conway
Bruno Senna has hit out at teammate Mike Conway for hindering his charge for second place in the British Formula Three championship last weekend
With Conway wrapping up the title at the penultimate round at Silverstone, the attention had turned to the battle for second between Senna and Carlin Motorsport's Oliver Jarvis at Thruxton last weekend.
Double R Racing even drafted in driver coach Danny Watts to drive a fourth car for the team in an attempt to aid Senna's bid, but Conway overtook the Brazilian while he was chasing Jarvis in race one.
"I was catching Jarvis and then Mike made a move on my outside into the chicane," said Senna. "I wasn't expecting that from my teammate, especially as he was already champion."
The move cost Senna his momentum which also allowed Yelmer Buurman through, and the Dutchman eventually collided with Conway, taking both of them out of the race.
"Mike just screwed up my corner so Buurman also got past me, but Mike got what he deserved because Yelmer took him off," said Senna.
The 22-year-old was hindered again though, as he had to avoid the incident and was passed by his other teammate Stephen Jelley, so had to settle for fourth place.
Double R withdrew race one winner Watts from race two, as he had qualified outside of the top 10, and Senna's championship hopes were all but gone.
