Williams play catch-up after troubled test
The Williams team were forced to play catch-up during practice for the Spanish Grand Prix following their troubled test at Barcelona last week
The British squad were forced to leave the test a day early after Nico Rosberg destroyed his car in an accident, just two days after test driver Kazuki Nakajima had crashed the same FW27.
The day in between the two accident had been hit by rain.
Director of engineering Patrick Head was pleased with the team's work today, however, and is hopeful of a good result on Sunday.
"We've been playing catch up today after a test where we didn't get a lot done due to two accidents and a wet day's running," said Head.
"We ran both cars through the different set-up variations which we'd planned to do last week. The guys working on the car, the engineers and the drivers have all done a great job to get through a busy programme and now we have a lot of data to get through tonight and decide which direction to take.
"The car seems to be running well and we hope to get back on course for a good result on Sunday."
Rosberg was seventh quickest, while teammate Alex Wurz finished down in 15th place.
