Jordan Gets Almost Ideal Birthday Present
Eddie Jordan was almost handed the perfect birthday present as Jarno Trulli posted the second quickest time of Friday's free practice session in Brazil.
Eddie Jordan was almost handed the perfect birthday present as Jarno Trulli posted the second quickest time of Friday's free practice session in Brazil.
Jordan, who celebrates his 53rd birthday today (Friday), was denied the ideal present as David Coulthard topped the times, but Trulli was happy to be amongst the quickest.
"It was a positive practice for me," said Trulli. "The car again looks very competitive and I'm confident for tomorrow.
"We did lose some running time in the second session after a small problem with the brakes. We worked hard on the set-up and managed to take a few seconds off my lap time when I went out again."
Heinz-Harald Frentzen, meanwhile, could not pinpoint the electrical problem which brought him to a halt, but expects both he and the track will be faster for qualifying.
"The car stopped on the track with an electrical fault although we're not sure of the exact problem yet," he said.
"The track was quite dusty at the beginning but it's getting faster all the time. We managed to get some good data from the car though, which is very productive."
