France Preview Quotes: Jordan

Ralph Firman: "I had quite a positive weekend at the last race as I'm getting more and more used to the car and the whole F1 package. I qualified within three tenths of a second of Giancarlo's time and although the race result didn't reward us with any points, it was encouraging to be reliable and I enjoyed having a good go. I'll be doing more of the same in France and hope that I'll get some points in return."

I'll be doing more of the same in France and hope that I'll get some points in return."

Giancarlo Fisichella: "France could be a tricky race for us as our car suffers a bit in hot conditions and this can make things difficult at very 'technical' circuits like Magny-Cours. I am not expecting any miracles, unless history repeats itself and we go back to '99 with a wet track and Jordan on the winners' podium! I stay motivated as I always give 101% when I drive my F1 car, and because I know the team is working very hard to give me a competitive vehicle. So I guess we have to get on with it and continue work on our strategy and reliability to be ready for the new package when it comes."

Gary Anderson, Director of Race and Test Engineering: "Magny-Cours has a few decent fast corners which are demanding for everyone involved but there aren't really many overtaking opportunities. This race used to be a bit of a procession but I imagine the new rules will shake it up a bit and we'll see some interesting strategies come into play. The new pit entry and exit will change the time lost during pit stops so strategies will need to be devised after Friday running. The traditionally hot conditions at this race haven't really suited us so far this year but we have done some development to our package in that respect and we'll have to wait and see how we fare when we go out for testing on Friday."

Eddie Jordan, Chief Executive: "The guys at the factory are all working very hard to make sure we have performance and reliability at each race and we are hoping to return to a points-scoring position. We have won this race in the past with a combination of team-work, strategy and a good driver and we still have the potential to deliver those ingredients. So if we can do the job with our car package on the day and have a little bit of luck, there's a chance we can bring a few points home."

Jost Capito, Director, Ford Team RS: "Back to back races are always a challenge for any Formula One team, and Jordan Ford is no exception. After seeing both cars take the chequered flag in the European Grand Prix last weekend, we are all focused on improving our finishing positions at Magny-Cours this time round. The excitement of the current season makes it difficult to give firm predictions for any race, but we are well aware that only hard work will result in points finishes."
