Coulthard Looking Forward to Spa Challenge

McLaren driver David Coulthard will bid to ease the pain of losing this year's championship at his "favourite" race of the season in Belgium this weekend.

Briton Coulthard, who has not won a race since the Austrian Grand Prix back in May, admitted the Spa-Francorchamps circuit is his favourite in the Championship and he is aiming for a win to go into the final races of the season in the best possible fashion.

"Spa is one of the greatest circuits in the world and offers numerous overtaking opportunities," said Coulthard. "There is no doubt it is my favourite track and I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

"The Championship might be over but I still want to achieve the best result possible for the team and myself."

Coulthard is second in the drivers' standings, just five points in front of Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello and seven ahead of Williams' Ralf Schumacher. Coulthard's teammate Mika Hakkinen won the Belgian Grand Prix last year and is hoping to repeat that result this weekend.

"I always enjoy driving at Spa," he said. "Set-up is crucial and often has to be a compromise as it can be dry on one part of the circuit and raining on another. I have very good memories of last year's race, which I really enjoyed and it would be nice to take victory again."
