US GP Fans Advised to Arrive Early
Fans attending the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis this weekend have been encouraged to leave their home or hotel early, to avoid delays getting to and into the circuit.
Fans attending the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis this weekend have been encouraged to leave their home or hotel early, to avoid delays getting to and into the circuit.
IMS officials have suggested fans leave an hour earlier than for other events held at the Speedway, as construction in the Indianapolis area means some routes that fans would normally take may be blocked off, and because it is the inaugural running of the US Grand Prix on the composite road course.
No parking will be available inside the circuit, but there will be parking available north and northwest of the track, at the 'Lot 1' and 'North 40' parking lots. As always, fans should follow any directions that they receive from law-enforcement personnel, who will direct traffic to the best routes to parking areas.
On race day, fans are encouraged to travel via the IndyGo public transit services, which leave from the airport as well as downtown Indianapolis on a regular basis, to reduce traffic congestion.
All tickets are sold out for race day on Sunday, however there are still tickets available for practice and qualifying on Friday and Saturday.
