Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi and Dutchman Jos Verstappen were happy with their day's work for the Arrows team despite ending they first day of practice for the Spanish Grand Prix in 16th and 17th place respectively.
The Leafield-based outfit completed their electronic testing programme, also trying some new aerodynamic components on the Asiatech-powered A22.
Bernoldi, who has a considerable knowledge of the Barcelona track from his F3000 days, admitted it was a good day for him.
"Overall we had a good day today," commented Bernoldi. "We concentrated on long runs this morning, working on traction control and set-up for the race, then this afternoon we worked on the launch control. We made steady progress with the new systems so I’m happy with the way the day has gone and looking forward to tomorrow."
Team mate Verstappen was also content with his day's work, though the veteran admitted the team has some work to do in order to improve their speed for tomorrow's qualifying session.
"We had an interesting day working with all the new rule changes," admitted Verstappen. "We spent the first session trying out some new aerodynamic parts, deciding which are best, and we did all the work we needed to with that. This afternoon we worked on our tyre choice and think we know where we’re going with those.
"In between we tested the traction control. All in all it’s been a good day but we need to have a long hard look at the data tonight to find a bit more speed."
The Arrows team are yet to score a point this season.
