Jenson 'pushing for Britain'!
Jenson Button thanked the British fans for their support after his first 'on track' points today at the British Grand Prix
"I could definitely see them all, jumping up and down," he said. "I don't usually look at the crowd, but I could see them jumping and waving flags - it was a nice feeling."
Button was pleased with his race where he finished fifth, despite a late-race engine problem that prevented him challenging his team mate Ralf Schumacher.
"The engine didn't have full power by the end," said Button. "Maybe it was something to do with the exhaust, but I don't know."
Button ran behind the McLarens for the first part of the race, a novel experience for the F1 rookie.
"It was nice to sit behind Mika for a time," he said. "I could see what lines he was taking, and just gain some experience.
"We're looking good at the moment - and Ralf is doing quite well too.
"I'm just going to keep pushing for Britain!"
