Herbert hopeful despite Jaguar woes
Johnny Herbert refuses to be despondent despite Jaguar's poor debut in the Australian Grand Prix
The British driver lasted less than a lap before suffering terminal clutch problems, while team-mate Eddie Irvine retired several laps later.
Speaking to The Express, Herbert said he was impressed with commitment shown by his team.
"It is fantastic to be driving for such a marque," he said.
"It has a racing heritage and name like Ferrari and now it wants to be up there, too.
"We are in it to win. That's the message and that is certainly what Eddie and I want to do. The name won't win us anything, it will simply drive people on.
"The potential is there and it is going to be exploited.
"This weekend was not the best. We know we have a lot of problems and I am sure that even now people will be banging their heads together to get things sorted out.
"We need to work hard and fast to get answers. If you are not moving quickly at all levels in F1, you fall behind."
