Weekend review and results round-up

After a few flat races, Formula 1 produced its biggest controversy of 2010 so far in Turkey, as Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel's collision cost Red Bull a one-two and handed Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button first and second for McLaren - but only after some extraordinarily close racing between the two British team-mates too

Add in the intrigue of who was told to do what with engine settings and when, and the result was not just an exciting race, but a debate that will rumble on at least until the next race in Canada.

It had already been a busy week for F1 news, thanks to the out of the blue announcement of a new United States Grand Prix in Texas from 2012, yet more twists in the 2011 tyre supply saga and a host new F-ducts appearing.

Beyond Formula 1, the Indianapolis 500 produced its usual level of incident and excitement - but Dario Franchitti pulled clear of it all and won the event for the second time in his career.

But perhaps the most momentous result of the weekend came in Portugal, where the World Rally Championship's rising star Sebastien Ogier defeated existing legend Sebastien Loeb in a straight fight.
