'Nice team, shame about the car' - Ralf

not with the pace of car development at Grove.
The German says there have been
no improvements on his car since the British Grand Prix three weeks ago,
and none are due until the race in Hungary in two weeks time.

'My motivation is as strong as ever,' he said after ending Friday practice 13th quickest thanks to gearbox problems.

'Your motivation is always good if you do things with a car that you know
is not a great car but you are able to achieve them,' he said.

'If the development stays as it is at the moment it is not a very nice
situation, especially if you come to a Grand Prix where you want to do well
as I do here in Germany.

'But I guess that is the way it is and I hope it is different next year.

'We have made modifications for Silverstone which I was pleased with at the
time but that was two races ago now and we haven't improved our car since
then. Obviously it takes time and we haven't had it.

'We have new things coming for Hungary which I am looking forward to
because presently we are not particularly happy with the way the package
works.'

But he had only praise for gruff team technical director Patrick Head,
not known for his driver-handling skills, and team boss Frank Williams.

'I feel great at Williams. I have read comments that there is a cool
atmosphere in the team but I must say I get along with Patrick and Frank
and the rest of the team and I feel perfectly happy in there,' he said.

The German has had an impressive season to date, taking a pair of 3rd places and scoring all the 19 points that the team have managed to pick up in 1999. Schumacher Jr has outshone his new team mate Alex Zanardi and turned his career around after earning a reputation for wild driving during his first two seasons of F1.
