Button confident Honda can improve
Jenson Button believes that Honda can turn their poor pre-season testing form around and perform competitively later in 2007
Honda have so far struggled with their new car and expect to trail the top teams in Melbourne. But Button sees no need to panic and is confident that the team will move forward.
"We haven't started in the best way, which is disappointing," he acknowledged in an interview with BBC Radio Five.
"We can improve the car - this team has been in much more difficult positions before. Then we have to wait and see."
Button cited Ferrari's 2006 season as an example of a team recovering from a seemingly bleak early position. Although Ferrari nearly won round one in Bahrain, they then struggled for speed in Malaysia and Australia before mounting a mid-season resurgence and challenging for the title.
"It's not over until the last race," said Button.
"Ferrari last season weren't that strong at the start of the year and they came back and almost won the championship.
"We've just got to wait and see and hope that everyone's pulling their weight and that we can improve as soon as possible."
