Cut the chat off the track Eddie, says Todt
Ferrari team boss Jean Todt has reminded lead Ferrari driver Eddie Irvine that actions speak louder than words, after his recent comments in the press.
The Frenchman wants Irvine to stop the talk and concentrate on winning Ferrari's first championship for 20 years.
Despite winning the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend, Todt believes Irvine needs to win more races to prove himself.
'This was the right kind of response from Eddie to the situation in which the team finds itself at the moment.
'We said we would not give up and this performance shows we have not. Now Eddie must continue to deliver this kind of race because, as usual, actions speak louder than words.'
Irvine silenced a few of his critics last Sunday when he stormed to victory in Austria.
He has made no secret of his desire for equal status within the Maranello-based marque this season, and is making the most of injured team-mate Michael Schumacher's absence to promote his cause.
Irvine's win on Sunday means he is now just two points behind Mika Hakkinen in the championship, with 42 points.
