1025BST: Mika Hakkinen sets the fastest time (1.24.489) as cars pile-out for the final practice session before qualifying. McLaren partner David Coulthard is second quickest

1027BST: Jordan team-mates Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Damon Hill out on circuit. Alex Wurz loses time after driving onto grass.

1029BST: Damon Hill sixth fastest behind Eddie Irvine. Michael Schumacher one fifth slower than the McLaren duo.

1032BST: Michael Schumacher edges closer to Hakkinen and Coulthard. Panis records his best time of the day to move up to 18th, behind team-mate Jarno Trulli. Both Ferraris consistently losing time in second sector.

1040BST: Eddie Irvine spins off, and out of the session, just beyond Bridge. Top six are: Hakkinen, Coulthard, M Schumacher, Frentzen, Irvine and Hill.

1043BST: Villeneuve stops car at Club, after cruising around for most of the lap.

1045BST: Fifteen minutes remain, with the top six remaining unchanged.

10.58BST: Hill moves into fifth, ahead of Irvine, after setting his best time of the day.

11.00BST: Chequered flag brings session to a close.
